Why you should start farming furnishing plans in ESO

The Elder Scrolls Online gives us adventurers plenty of ways to spend our time. Some dive into dungeons, trials, and arenas, others love to smash their foes in PvP, and then there are those who prefer to build their own little worlds with the housing system. I’ll be honest – housing was never my cup of mead, but I have to hand it to the developers: they did a fantastic job! I’ve never seen anything like it. From cozy cottages and sprawling castles to hidden caves and private islands, the possibilities are endless – and there are hundreds of items to make your personal space truly yours.

And where there’s housing, there’s gold to be made! ESO uses “furnishing plans” as blueprints to craft all sorts of items, and these plans can be found across the game, mostly tucked away in containers. Some of these plans are worth a small fortune, which is why I’m always hunting down the best farming spots – especially in the newest zones.

In this guide, you’ll discover the current top spot to farm furnishing plans in Solstice. Want the full rundown on furnishing plan farming? Check out my detailed guide for all the tips and tricks.

My new favourite location in Solstice in Update 47

In Update 46, I named Swencoast Cottage my favorite spot to farm furnishing plans in Solstice – and it worked like a charm. But on my last run, I noticed it had been nerfed. Not a single furnishing plan dropped! Time to find a new spot, then. Luckily I didn’t need so search long. Some clever adventurers had already discovered this one – and honestly, it’s even better than the old cottage. Curious? Here’s everything you need for your next farming run!

I’m talking about the Broken Light Temple. Sitting at the edge of the island and locked behind a short quest, some folks might think it’s not worth the effort to get there. But trust me, it’s faster than downing a pint, and absolutely worth those two minutes of questing! Inside you’ll find 80+ containers, just a single weak mob standing in your way, and an even easier reset than the old spot ever had.

But before we get to the details, let’s take a look at where you can actually find it.

How to get to the Broken Light Temple

As shown on the map above, finding the Broken Light Temple is a breeze. Just follow the main road heading north through Solstice, cross a small bridge, and you’ll set foot on the island. And trust me – once you cross the bridge, you can’t miss it… not even after a few mugs of mead.

There is only one small catch: You’ll need to do one quest, to unlock the entrance to the temple. But it only takes two minutes to do it and it’s super easy. So no worries.

Here is a small quick-guide:

1. Head over the bridge and talk to High Priest Aramine (image below)
2. Take the quest “Mystery of the broken temple”
3. Rubble the dirt piles for the lucent shard
4. Talk to Aramine again
5. Use the rod at the large dirt pile
6. Interact with the destroyed bridge to rebuild it again
7. Thats it. Now you can enter the temple.

Pretty simple, isn’t it? Now you can make a loop through the temple, loot every container along the way, and once you reach the entrance again, reset everything easily just like I’ll show you below.

How to reset loot containers in the Broken Light Temple

Resetting the containers in the Broken Light Temple couldn’t be easier. Like always, you’ll need a loading screen to make it happen. In some places, like Swenstone Cottage, you had to pull off that little “shop trick” I mentioned in my last guide. But here? Nothing fancy.

Just walk out the front door, step back inside, and voilà – the loading screen does its magic, and all the containers are reset and ready for another round.

Summary

Pros:

  • Large number of containers in a single location
  • No stealing required – clean, stress-free looting
  • Super quick and easy reset method
  • Instanced loot – no loot competition

Cons:

  • Requires unlocking through a short quest (a minor step, but worth mentioning)
